As part of Autodesk Foundation’s grant to our work, we have been invited to join Autodesk’s Pier 9 Residency Program in 2017. This residency allowed us to develop and adapt the Lytefire technology to digital fabrication methods such as laser cutting, 3D printing and CNC.
Located downtown San Francisco, Autodesk Pier 9 is a state-of-the-art digital fabrication workshop hosting a cross-section of Autodesk’s industry leading employees, technical experts and creative partners. Launched in 2013, Pier 9 was designed as a place to explore every stage of the process of making things, from idea to digital model to real-world physical product.
We were in San Francisco from February to June 2017, with the goal to integrate digital fabrication methods into our work flow, get connected to the maker community here and further our practice of impact oriented design.
