A few units have been recently installed in a vocational school in Uganda.
The project is to equip the school’s kitchen and for the school to generate a bit of additional revenue.
Here is what the principal’s says:
“Beyond skills development, the solar baking oven will support our school feeding programme by providing a clean and sustainable way of preparing meals for students. It will also expose trainees to modern renewable energy technologies that are increasingly relevant in today’s labour market,” Dr Akol.
Lytefire on TV in Uganda:
News coverage on our Lytefire project with World Vision and Amelo Technical Institute.
"[The project] is expected to enhance practical skills, improve school feeding, reduce cooking costs, and generate income through commercial baking"
"Amelo Technical Institute, a government-owned vocational training institution in Adjumani District, has received a Lytefire Solar Baking Oven and Solar Boiler in a move aimed at promoting renewable energy skills, improving school feeding programmes, and supporting sustainable livelihoods."

Dear Solar Friends,
We have great news to share today! It’s all in this 1:33 minute clip:
In short: We reached goal 1 and goal 2 of our crowdfunding campaign! And with the 3rd goal now we want to give our educational material for free (yes!) to all the parents, schools, teachers and educators who can spread our important knowledge about energy to the next gen. It would mean a lot to us because change is urgently needed everywhere and Lytefire can support it.
Support the final goal:

Journalists have started picking up our project (see press), and I even got to be on the Solardey podcast, hosted by solar engineer Prosper Arinze. We dove into the technical aspects of PV vs solar thermal, and we came out as friends, understanding that these technologies are complementary, not enemies. Listen on YT and Spotify.
Have a great weekend, stay fresh in this rising climate, and consider supporting! ☀️
